Craniosacral & Somatic Therapy

Gnentle, body-based approaches that support the nervous system’s natural ability to regulate, release tension, and heal. Together, these approaches help restore a greater sense of balance, safety, and ease in the body.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, Craniosacral and Somatic Therapy support the whole person. Through skilled, attentive touch and increased body awareness, many people experience greater ease, improved resilience, reduced pain, deeper relaxation, and a stronger sense of connection to themselves. Whether you're recovering from chronic stress, navigating a health challenge, or seeking a deeper level of well-being, these therapies can help create the conditions for lasting change and a greater sense of balance in daily life.

Reconnect with your Body's Wisdom.

Craniosacral and Somatic Therapy are both valuable approaches, but knowing when to use each one matters. At times, the body may benefit most from hands-on support that helps release physical tension and restore regulation. Other times, slowing down and building awareness around patterns, sensations, and nervous system responses is the more supportive path. With over 20 years of experience, Katy is a skilled practitioner able to recognize what your system is asking for in the moment and adjust the work accordingly. This creates a more individualized approach—one that supports change without overwhelming the body and helps healing unfold at a pace the nervous system can truly integrate.

In Skilled Hands

Instead of focusing primarily on words or cognitive insight, Transforming Touch® works with the body and nervous system — the parts of us where trauma is stored and enacted — through structured, intentional, and gentle physical touch (while the client remains fully clothed) and attuned presence. It’s designed to co-regulate and help the nervous system learn safety and connection at a pre-verbal level. Especially helpful for those with developmental trauma.

Transforming Touch Somatic Therapy®

Craniosacral Therapy is often described as gentle, but that doesn't fully capture what makes it so effective. Rather than forcing change, this work helps uncover the patterns your body has been holding—sometimes for years. Through subtle touch and careful listening, we begin to identify areas where tension, compensation, and protective responses have become habitual. As these patterns become more apparent, the body has an opportunity to reorganize itself with less effort and strain.

Craniosacral Therapy

Ready to stop managing symptoms and start feeling better?

Not necessarily. Every session is tailored to your individual needs and what your system is presenting in the moment. Some sessions may focus primarily on Craniosacral Therapy, while others may lean more heavily into Somatic Therapy. Often, elements of both are woven together, but there is no predetermined formula. The goal is not to apply techniques, but to respond to what will best support your nervous system, body, and healing process.

Do you automatically combine Craniosacral & Somatic Therapy?

Not exactly. Many people find that they can understand a problem intellectually yet still feel stuck in the same patterns. Somatic Therapy helps bridge that gap by working with how stress, emotions, and life experiences are held within the body. Sessions may include conversation, but the focus is often on increasing awareness, building regulation, and creating new experiences of safety, choice, and resilience. The goal is not simply to talk about what happened, but to help your nervous system and body move toward greater ease and flexibility.

Is Somatic Therapy like regular talk therapy?

Transforming Touch® is one of the main modalities I practice for somatic therapy. It is a trauma-informed, somatic healing approach developed by Dr. Stephen J. Terrell, PsyD, SEP to support people — especially those with developmental and attachment trauma — in regulating their nervous systems and reshaping early non-verbal patterns that talk therapy alone often doesn’t reach.

What is Transforming Touch®?

The answer varies from person to person. Factors such as your goals, the nature of your symptoms, how long patterns have been present, and your body's response to treatment all play a role. Some clients notice meaningful changes quickly, while others benefit from a longer course of care.

How long does it take to see results?

I begin all new clients with a package of five sessions. This initial series allows us to establish care, build momentum, and gain a clearer understanding of the patterns contributing to your symptoms or concerns. Meaningful change often takes time, and multiple sessions provide an opportunity for your body and nervous system to integrate the work more effectively than a single visit alone. After completing the initial package, you can choose to continue with individual maintenance sessions or purchase another package if ongoing support is appropriate for your goals.

Do I have to get a package of sessions for your Craniosacral & Somatic Sessions?
